I have exciting new for you: super-stylist Josie Nevarez, formerly of Trio Salon, is now at Maxine! In case you haven’t heard yet, she’s incredibly accomplished. I feel she was always meant to work here.

“I really enjoy making a new client’s basic bob shape a little edgier, or tweaking a pixie cut so it’s even more exciting,” says Josie. “I don’t believe in wholesale texturizing; rather I focus on specific areas of the head and use it to customize and renew a cut.”

She explains that giving haircuts a bit of an edge doesn’t mean they become funky. Many of her clients are professional women over 40 and 50 and they love her approach.

Josie is equally adept with extensions and she is master of the updo. Her creations are sleek with an edge. “I like updos on the looser side, whether they’re ponies or chignons,” she adds.

Josie has styled celebrities such as Martha Stewart and Fran Drescher. She has also worked for The Oprah Show as Guest Stylist and her talent has brought her to scores of prestige shows such as Badgley Mischka, Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta.
