HOW TO RESEARCH LIKE A PRO

(AKA, DON'T JUST GOOGLE "BRIDAL HAIR")

"Googling bridal hair will get you nowhere fast," says Adrianne Johnston. "Instead, search for your favorite celebrities' red carpet looks, or a celebrity that has a similar hair type to you."

Some of Adrianne's hair icons include Eva Mendes, Mila Kunis, January Jones, Blake Lively, Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman... to name a few (see a broader, more visual list here!). And then, of course, there are those classic beauties that we must not forget: Brigitte Bardot, Veronica Lake, Audrey Hepburn—you can't go wrong with those lovely ladies' locks. 

HOW TO LEARN FROM PAST EXPERIENCE

The most targeted research, however, doesn't come from the silver screen or the red carpet. It comes from your very own Facebook profile, your friends' albums, even a good old fashioned photo album. Take a look at how you've worn your hair in the past, especially at other special events. Adrianne says to ask yourself: "Have they been hits or misses?" A little bit of retrospection could help you avoid the disaster that was your hair at your friend's wedding, or (even better) recreate your Best Hair Day Ever—good job documenting that, by the way!

How to Ace Your Bridal Trial

"Come in with your makeup and jewelry on, even if it's just something similar to what you'll be wearing," says Adrianne, "And try to wear a top with a similar silhouette to your dress."

Trust us, visualizing the final look is ten times more difficult in sweats and no makeup. Long story short, the most successful bridal trials start at home. A finished face, clean white tank/dress (again, try to go with a similar silhouette), and a little bit of bling will make your life so much easier! While you're at it, start grabbing some inspiration, as well! 

HOW TO FOCUS ON THE BIG PICTURE

"Don't get too caught up in the details!" says Rivkah Lyles, especially during the trial(s). Instead of honing in on that single strand that may or may not fall out of place, focus on the big picture. Try to pin down the overall look and feeling you want to have for your big day. That being said, leaving enough time for at least one or two trials will probably take some of the pressure off.
