Extreme treatments get toned down
Curious about a beauty treatment, but not quite ready to make a full commitment? Try one of these "in-betweens," which allow you to sample certain salon and spa treatments in a healthier way.
Not-too-bright highlights: For curly girls who want just a touch of color, the BaliCurl ($150 at Maxine Salon in Chicago) is a no-foil highlighting technique that lightens hair one or two shades. Color is painted only on the round of your spirals, so less of the strand is subjected to the dyes.
