Large, airy rooms harmoniously and attractively decorated according to feng shui principles provide the backdrop for the treatments here. This is one of the city's prettiest spas, and owner Maxine Kroll is on hand to make sure the services are up to snuff. Seasonal specialties include the white chocolate mint pedicure, which is accompanied by a cup of hot chocolate frothy with cream (in summer, a cool pina colada); similarly, milk-based products are used to soften hands and feet on chilly days. Facials are topped off with a mask of five Chinese herbs or Norwegian seaweed. Body wraps can include a massage with East Indian sandalwood oil. Haircuts and coloring by Kroll and a well-trained team of stylists are also available. The spa's Michelle Hightower Simpson is one of the city's best nail technicians.
