Fall's version of beachy highlights
Keira Knightley, Penelope Cruz, model Lily Aldridge, and other dark-haired beauties are going with a lighter color on their tips-a "my hair just grew out this way" look that's suddenly a ginormous trend. "It appears natural and unintentional yet has a bit of an edge to it," says a colorist at Maxine salon in Chicago. And getting it is easy: "grow out your summer highlights, or just ask your colorist to paint a caramel tone on your ends," says the Maxine Colorist. And the tips-only technique works just as well on darker blondes.
