BASH from the Past

With a little flash from the past, the BeautyBASH had more than 700 industry insiders nibbling on quiche, mac and cheese and Caeser salad, grooving to funky tunes and digging out their retro fashions and hair styles. Held on the first night of the 2012 America's Beauty Show, the BeautyBASH honored the people, talent and giving attitude that has been a hallmark of Cosmetologists Chicago (CC) for 100 years.

As party hosts, CC was joined by Pivot Point International, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012. Revelers enjoyed food and beverages popular during each of the past 10 decades and were treated to Decades of Beauty, a retrospective look at 100 years of fashion and hair trends, along with a surprising look into the future.

"What a thrilling night, not just for CC and Pivot Point, but the entire professional salon idustry," said Frank Gironda, president of CC. "While we had an opportunity to witness style, innovation, technology and change through the years here tonight, we are well aware that the way hairdressers touch lives and hearts will always remain the same."

BeautyBASH sponsors included Aquage, BSG/Cosmoprof Color Tracking Systems, Farouk, Goldwell, l'Oreal Professionnel, Matrix, Maxine Salon, P&G Salon Professional, Redken/Pureology, Quality Beauty Supply, Sally Beauty Supply and Takara Belmont.
