Breakfast with Birchbox

by Jessica on June 11, 2012

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. I can’t even begin to describe how much I have missed being able to post over the last week. I have SO much to share with you!

Birchbox took over Chicago last week and it was nothing short of fabulous! Makeovers at Benefit, hair braiding with Kerastase at Maxine Salon, a delicious breakfast at NoMi Kitchen, and so much more!

First, let me start with a confession… I hadn’t put my hands on a Birchbox before last week. You don’t have to judge me, I’m already judging myself. I had held off on this monthly subscription service because I don’t typically try new beauty products. Searching for new products is expensive, time consuming, and overwhelming. What if I buy a full-size product and hate it? Who has time to scour consumer reviews before making a purchase decision? And what if there is something better out there that I should be buying instead? #anxiety

Birchbox answers all of those questions. The seriously cool staff at Birchbox finds the best products that we should be trying for us and delivers them to our mailboxes each and every month. For $10. #genius

Needless to say, I’ve since joined! :)

The Birchbox I received at breakfast included:

- A full size Stila sparkle waterproof liquid eyeliner

- Color Club nail polish in ‘Disco Nap’

- Lulu Organics Hair Powder

- Origins Checks & Balances Face Wash

- A Twistband

And as if breakfast wasn’t enough, I spent last Wednesday evening with Birchbox getting my hair braided at Maxine Salon. (See the picture of my braid here.) We sipped on champagne, devoured cupcakes, and learned more about Kerastase products.

My Kerastase Birchbox included:

- A full size Essie “Tour de Finance”

- Kerastase Elixir Ultime

- Kerastase Cristalliste Lumiere Liquide

- Kerastase Cristalliste Shampoo & Conditioner
