After 26 years as a stylist, Patricia Arredondo is good at everything. She executes creative cutting, updos and blow-drying with her signature perfectionism. She is known as the "curl whisperer" because she can transform a bedraggled, shapeless mass of waves into a perfectly layered cascade of curls that enhance the wearer's features. In fact, she is the curly hair expert of record for L'Oreal Professionnel's Kérastase product line. "If the wind blows your hair around and then it falls back into place, that's when you know you have a great haircut," she says. Clients also love her Keratin Smoothing Treatments. Before Maxine, Patricia was creative director for Studio 110 and an educator for Heidi's Salon. Her continuing education includes the Sassoon Academy, classes with Aveda, Toni & Guy, Rusk and updos with high-fashion stylist Luigi Mureno in New York City. Unlike most stylists, she does not rely on hairspray to finish her updos. She likes to build a strong foundation with lots of product in the hair prior to putting the hair up. Then she begins to create the style. She feels this approach lends itself to a much more natural, softer and free-spirited result. She calls her approach ‘undone-done.’ Patricia's styling skills are on display during the Nordstrom Fashion Show and The Art Institute's Glamorama show. Celebrities she has styled include Mandy Moore and Gela Nash-Taylor (Juicy Couture). Her work has been featured in Sophisticate’s Reader Makeover issue. To relax, she enjoys working out with weights and yoga, reading and spending time with her two Shih-Tzu dogs.
