Nelson Solivan, Stylist
After starting his career in Beverly Hills, honing in on his craft in Denver with in-depth training on extensions and various hair textures, Nelson made a move to the Midwest, joining the team at Maxine Salon. His favorite part of being behind the chair is imagining shapes that will flatter his clients and creating them in a way they can wear it. Nelson specializes in Dessange cutting technique and his passion for learning keeps continued education at the forefront of his career.
What is one special thing that everyone should know about Maxine salon? The building we are located was a nightclub back in the day. Still holds the same vibe.
What has been your career high? Waking up and realizing I have made a career out of my greatest wish! It took a lot of training to get where I am today, lots of ups and downs, but I am extremely grateful.
What do you do in your free time? I have been skateboarding for 18 years. It’s lead me to traveling around filming projects and meeting amazing people.
What do you never leave home without? Coffee
What was the best decade for hair and why? I like the current decade, there is a lot of information out there and even more inspiration from great artists.
