Jenny Slate Proves This White Lotus Cut Is Going to Be Spring’s Biggest Hairstyle Trend

Has Jenny Slate made a reservation at the White Lotus resort? Stepping out to do some press for Dying for Sex, the star seems to be rocking the CLB, otherwise known as the C-nty Little Bob, a look that’s having its moment thanks to Leslie Bibb on the HBO murder mystery.

Slate showed off her quirky cool-girl style for a taping of Good Morning America in a sheer top and skirt and a white wool coat, accessorizing with black sunglasses, a black handbag, and nude heels.

To be fair, Slate has been experimenting with levels of c-ntitude and bob-liness for a while now, but the style is about to have its most major moment this summer, mark our words.

Slate hasn’t revealed any of her hair secrets so far, but Bibb’s stylist did give fans a point by point breakdown on how he achieved the cut we can’t stop thinking about, in case you’d like to give it a go at your next salon appointment. The trick is to really get in there with a trimmer on the back of the neck to even things out, and go layer by layer until it’s all perfectly even. Check out more tips, here.

'60s Bob

A '60s-inspired bob tucked behind the ears looks effortlessly elegant. For Selena Gomez, hairstylist Renato Campora created soft curls with a blowout brush and curling iron before setting the ends inward using Joico Humidity Blocker+ Protective Finishing Spray.

“The clean, soft shape is 1960s inspired, but the additional tuck behind the ears adds a more modern aspect to her look,” says Campora. “The face is open and perfectly shaped by the style.”

Loc Bob

Locs look extra chic paired with a chin-length bob. Hairstylist Vernon Francois added extensions for the blunt shape then applied Olaplex products to create Lupita Nyong'o's “messy yet polished” texture.

“I massaged in Olaplex Nº.7 Bonding Oil from mid-lengths to ends for shine and hydration, brushing it through to evenly distribute and prep the hair,” says Francois. "The oil added shine, reduced frizz, and provided heat protection, ensuring the bob looked sleek yet touchable. Then, I used a hairdryer to seal in the products. Lastly, I flat-ironed the hair to define texture and structure, squeezing sections for a unique finish.”

Old Hollywood Bob

The Old Hollywood bob has ruled the red carpet, with everyone from Zendaya to Selena Gomez joining in on the trend. To get Zendaya's voluminous look, stylist Coree Moreno used hair rollers and set the shape with GHD Helios Hair Dryer, then touched up the curls with the Curve Classic Curl Iron. To get long-lasting and voluminous curls, he added prestyled Bellami Silk Seam Clip-In Extensions and finished off with the Nexxus Epic Shine Anti Humidity Spray and Nexxus Comb Thru Flexible Hold Hair Spray.

Classic Bob

The classic bob is quite literally the blueprint, so it’s nearly impossible to go wrong. “I will always vouch for a classic bob cut,” says Giannetos. “With a classic bob haircut, the length falls between the chin and shoulders. I love this length because it can look great on any face shape. The beauty of the bob is that it can be versatile. I personally love the look of a classic, clean, and even-length bob.”

Supermodel Bob

One of the most popular bob haircuts of this year? The ’90s-supermodel bob. “The cut has the line and length of the bob, but the top layers have much more texture, so it’s lighter on top and easier to flip around,” says celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena, who says that ’90s supermodel bob is the easiest—and chicest—way to instantly add volume and texture to short hair.

Box Bob

Offering a more modern take on the most classic bob shape, the box bob is a box-shaped chop with blunt ends, clean lines, and little to no layers. Searches for the cut have also risen by 120% in the past year, according to data collected from Ripe Hair & Beauty, so expect to see more of them—and soon.

French Bob

The French bob is probably the second most popular bob after the classic bob. Chin-grazing, tousled, and styled with bangs, it's essentially the modern take on the iconic haircut of the title character from the 2001 film Amélie.

Bubble Bob

Google searches for the bubble bob have skyrocketed by 1,300% over the past year, and it's not hard to see why. Airy, voluminous, and, well, round and bubbly, a bubble bob is the ideal way to ensure voluminous hair all day long. For extra dimension, try it paired with a subtle balayage.

Baroque Bob

Quiet luxury-inspired hairstyles are getting louder—and bigger. According to hairstylist Francesca Inverarity, the “baroque bob is all down to the blow-dry and finish,” she says. “It’s a simple but structured cut that is styled into voluminous sculpted waves.”

Supermodel Elsa Hosk has been wearing the look as of late. According to her hairstylist Ricky Mota, the key to styling is volumizing products like Unite Expanda Volume, a targeted spray foam that adds lift, volume, and hold directly to the root, and Texturiza Spray to add instant volume, fullness, and definition.

“Bixie” Bob

“I’m seeing a lot of celebrities opting for shorter, piecey layered and textured shapes,” celebrity hairstylist Kieron Justin tells Glamour. “We’ve seen it happening a lot on the runway, and then it filtered into mainstream with the return of the iconic pixie and the bixie, which is a combination of the bob and pixie.”

’90s Bob

Reminiscent of Cameron Diaz in the ’90s as well as the haircut popularized by Posh Spice, the ’90s bob is a texturized take on A-line bob. “The standout features of this haircut is the center part,” says Aimee McDonnell, co-owner at Blue Tit’s salon. “The shape is a classic A-line bob with no layering, just some weight removed at the ends to ensure the bob tucks under nicely and avoids a triangular finish.”

Sleek Bob

The secret to the sleek bob is styling. “There is something so powerful about a woman who can rock such a sleek look,” says celebrity hairstylist Shenise Sheena, who is a fan of the trending sleek bob. “I think a sleek, shiny hairstyle like this is a must-try for the upcoming season because it exudes confidence.”

Sheena created the look for Carmella Rose, styling the chop with 7Seconds Detangler for a tangle-free base and 7Seconds Glossing Spray to tame flyaways and add long-lasting high shine.

Old-Money Bob

Another example of how quiet luxury has come for our hair, the old-money bob haircut plays into the “old-money aesthetic” while being fairly low-maintenance to style. “This cut is all about fullness and body,” says London hairstylist Suzi Angelina. “The volume at the root gives an expensive feel, while the blunter ends offer a more sophisticated twist.”

When getting the cut, “it’s important to keep a full perimeter, focusing any soft shaping just around the face,” she says. “Doing so helps the hair appear thicker throughout the ends, while still having movement around the face for that eye-catching bounce and body.”

Micro Bob

Online searches rise for the “micro bob” have risen by 243% in 2024, and we're not at all surprised. This chop hits just around the jawline, which makes it feel “cuter,” says Luke Hersheson, cofounder of hair brand and salon Hershesons. Slightly more daring in shape than other types of bobs, it's the perfect cut for anyone who's sick of long hair, and it's perfect for hot weather.

Mushroom Bob

Giannetos is also a fan of the mushroom bob—and so is his client Meredith Duxbury. Cropped yet voluminous, it's essentially the perfect hybrid of the old-money bob and micro bob.

Asymmetrical Bob

Asymmetrical bobs like the inverted bob are making a huge comeback, according to Jessica Neil from KH Hair. “This all-time favorite is a great style as it can suit all different face shapes and hair textures depending on which length or style of asymmetric haircut you go for,” she says.

Outgrown Bob

The outgrown bob has length with the cool-girl appeal of a bob, while keeping enough length to be able to style your hair into a low bun, ponytail, or topknot. It hits the sweet spot between something new and fresh, while not feeling uncomfortably short for those of us whose necks haven’t been naked since our last whopper cut at the start of last year.

Modern French Bob

For a more modern take on the French bob, try something a little longer with face-framing layers and curtain bangs. Think Amélie, but maybe while on vacation.

Skinny Lob

According to hairstylist Tom Smith, the skinny lob is a top haircut trend to watch. “The haircut gets its name from its narrow, elongated silhouette,” he says.” In terms of length, it's the longest way to wear a bob before the haircut transitions into more of a classic midi hairstyle, almost transitioning into a long hairstyle.

Sliced Bob

Authentic Beauty Concept advocate and celebrity hairstylist Justin Toves-Vincilione points to the sliced bob as another chic bob to consider. “It makes a huge statement with its strong, blunt shape and dense ends,” he says. “This haircut is similar to a blunt bob, but left even chunkier on the ends to maximize the illusion of volume and density. This look can work for all hair types but is best for individuals with thick hair.”

Blunt Bob

“We’ve seen a good amount of celebs and It girls chop off their length in favor of a fun, short cut that clears the shoulders,” says hairstylist Cherilyn Farris. “It’s a playful and often drastic change, but also has an air of sophistication.” One such example is Saoirse Ronan, who just debuted her own short, sharp chop. This style looks the best on thin hair.

Blunt Lob

Looking for something a little bit longer? A blunt, long bob still makes a statement without sacrificing too much length and is especially flattering for fine hair. Pair it with a deep side part, as seen on Mindy Kaling.

“Ideal on those with wider, rounder, or heart-shaped faces, the long bob has been getting more popular throughout the year and the final evolution of this shape has straightener sides and softer ends,” Smith says. “This is almost reaching a ‘short’ long haircut thanks to the lack of blunt lines.”

Butterfly Bob

The butterfly bob is another especially on-trend chop, which Maxine Salon hairstylist Jenna Spino defines as “heavily layered and feathered, featuring shorter layers on top of the head and through the crown.” These shorter layers slightly resemble butterfly wings, hence the cut’s cute name.

“The short layers on top are blended through to longer layers on the bottom,” Spino says of the chop. “The shorter layers fall at or below the chin, and the longer layers fall just past the shoulders.” As a result, this adds tons of texture, movement, and volume to the hair.

Feathered Bob

Want a feathered take on the French bob? “I think that Megan Fox is a perfect recent example of how to truly rock this look,” says Giannetos. Try the look with a fiery hair color to make a bold statement.

French Lob

If the French bob is a little too short or dramatic for your taste, you can test the waters with a French lob. Ellis especially loves this medium-length haircut for people with square and rectangle face shapes. “I recommend shoulder-length or shorter,” he says. “A nice lob is great or even a shorter French bob.”

Italian Bob

Known for its airiness and styling ease, the Italian bob is the French bob’s European cousin. As for how it’s different? It’s longer and bouncier with more layers, a look Giannetos created for Duxbury’s blonde bob and wavy hair.

Flipped Bob

Ideal for heart-shaped faces and anyone looking to open up the area around their jawline, the shoulder-length flipped-out bob is supercute, retro, and flattering.

The “Petit” Bob

Dubbed the sassy sister to the French girl bob, the petit bob is a great option for those growing out a severe crop, says celebrity hairstylist and Evo Hair international color creative director Tom Smith.

“It creates angles and contours, which is exactly what the awkward stages of growing out short hair lack,” he says. “If your hair texture is finer or has thinned out over time, this cut is one of the best cuts you could opt for to increase the visual thickness and bulk of your hair.”

Undone Bob

Essentially a more lived-in and textured take on the French bob, the undone bob is chic, edgy, and shockingly low-maintenance. It’s no wonder so many celebrities are obsessed: Hailey Bieber, Aubrey Plaza, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Sabrina Elba, and more have all rocked undone bobs over the past few months.

Cool-Girl Bob

Equal parts edgy, feminine, and low-maintenance, the cool-girl bob is very much giving lazy-hot-girl hair in all the best ways. “The cool-girl bob is effortless and a tiny bit longer in the front than the rest for subtle dimension,” says celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak, founder of hair care line RĹŤz, who created the look for Emma Stone.

For your own chop, Roszak advises taking a photo of the cool-girl bob to your stylist, as well as requesting the length in front be a little longer than the rest of your hair. Think A-line bob, but more chic. “Ask for definition and effortless movement,” she reiterates.

Preppy Bob

“The ultimate hairstyle is the ’90s-inspired preppy bob,” says Justin, who points to Hailey Bieber’s chop as a prime example of the look. “Not only is it one of the most on-trend haircuts at the moment, but it is also versatile and wearable.” It’s also especially low-maintenance and versatile, he adds: “This staple look can go from natural to chic in seconds and is suitable for most hair textures.”

Chopped Bob

Wednesday star Jenna Ortega debuted this choppy bob that is set to be a huge style. Hairstylist David Stanwell, who created the textured bob, told Glamour UK, “Even though it’s choppy and maybe razored, make sure it still has balance and symmetry.”

Coily Bob

Keeping your natural curls healthy and hydrated is key. A curl cream like Pattern Beauty Styling Cream or leave-in conditioner like Adwoa Melonberry Hair Milk can be used on both wet and dry hair to condition strands.

Streaky Bob

Mix and match hair dyes to enhance the texture of your angled bob. To create this look, hairstylist Maggie Phan used a combination of Schwarzkopf Professional salon colors to layer bright orange onto navy.

Sharp Curly Bob

Curls also look great in a sharp bob. It’s all about playing up angles. And don’t forget the wispy bangs, which add even more visual interest. (That’s right, the side part isn’t going anywhere, no matter the discourse around it.)

One-Length Bob

If you want a low-maintenance look, something like Margot Robbie’s wavy bob is your best bet. “Depending on the texture of your hair, I find that a one-length bob just above the shoulders is easiest to style—the haircut should do the styling for you,” Brown says.

Rounded Bob

The rounded bob is certainly having a moment—Kim, Khloé, and Kylie have all tried the style on for size. “A rounded bob is fantastic because it flatters nearly every face shape,” says celebrity hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons, who loves this cut for its retro look. The best length, he says, depends on which features you want to highlight.

Box-Braid Bob

There are endless ways to style a braided bob hairstyle. One of our favorites? Add multicolored beads to the ends to give the overall look a younger, more playful vibe.

Shaggy Lob

Shag haircuts are still going strong. “Depending on your hair texture, the shag is a cut that can be worn extremely messy or seamlessly straight,” says stylist Anh Co Tran. The cut looks amazing with just about every length and texture, but as Taylor Swift shows here, it’s particularly excellent with a few rough waves that hit right above the collarbone.

Modern Diana

If Spencer had you thinking about a Diana-inspired chop, you’re not alone. Ryan Trygstad, celebrity hairstylist and cofounder of New York’s Mark Ryan Salon, says he’s been giving his clients a modern take on the princess’s iconic haircut. “It’s such a fresh look and exudes confidence and style,” he says. “The cut itself is a mixture of a very short layered bob edging toward a pixie.”

Fulani Braids Bob

Fulani braids don’t have to be long. As Danai Gurira proves, they look incredible when they hit just above your shoulders. Flared ends make the style even cooler.

Full Curls

Size does matter, and when it comes to curly hair, stylists agree that bigger is better. “Together, the length and shape of the cut help to build really stunning volume for natural girls,” says César DeLeön RamiĚ‚rez, Mizani global artistic director and celebrity stylist. On Kerry Washington, her hair’s soft rounded shape sets this apart from your average lob.
