Khloé Kardashian’s New Teddy Bear Bob Is Inspired by Kendall Jenner

With 304 million followers, Khloé Kardashian may be one of Instagram’s top influencers—but that doesn’t mean she’s above being influenced.

On January 24, Kardashian confirmed she’s in her bob era by posting a series of selfies featuring her new teddy-bear-brunette bob, which was cut just above her shoulders and styled in a ’90s bombshell blowout.

“Bobby,” Khloé captioned the snaps she took while dressed in a green Skims bra or tank top that really brings out her green eyes—or is that the work of those thin, face-framing caramel highlights? Either way, the final effect is undeniably stunning.

This is a dramatic switch-up for the 40-year-old reality star, who is known to favor XL hair. In fact, the last time Khloé cut her hair short was back in 2022, when she rocked a pin-straight blunt bob at the Met Gala. That platinum blonde cut is a vastly different version of a bob than the bouncy Italian-inspired style she’s currently sporting.

Even so, famed hairstylist Justine Marjan instantly recalled Kardashian’s last bob, commenting, “I’m so happy it’s back!!!”

So, what inspired Khloé Kardashian to shed so many inches of hair? That would be her sister, Kendall Jenner.

In late December, Kendall Jenner revealed an even-shorter brunette version of the platinum blonde shoulder-skimming bob she debuted just a month prior. The jaw-length flippy bob was particularly swoon-worthy, as her older sister pointed out in multiple comments. “I looooove your short hair!!!! Ugh swoon,” Khloé gushed, adding, “Going to cut mine now.”

Clearly, Khloé Kardashian is a woman of her word. And while her chop will undoubtably convince a ton of her own followers to jump on the bob bandwagon, it’s important to note what celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos told Glamour in 2024: “Having a bob requires some maintenance,” Giannetos said. “This means getting regular haircuts and/or dusting off your ends every four to six weeks to keep the look fresh.”

If that doesn’t scare you off, and you are still looking for the bob that’s right for you, Glamour has you covered.

2025 Hair Trends You’re About to See Everywhere

Jawline Bob

“The jawline bob is trending for 2025,” says Jennifer Korab celebrity hairstylist and founder of Renaissance Salon & Spa. “This sleek and polished cut is perfect for winter, complementing the season’s affinity for structured styles that pair seamlessly with scarves and coats. Its bold, tailored vibe also aligns with the growing emphasis on individuality and empowering style choices.” To get this look, ask your stylist for a sharp, one-length bob that grazes the jawline, with minimal layering to maintain its sleek silhouette. “Slightly tucked-under ends add a timeless, polished finish,” she adds.

Textured Waves

According to celebrity hair stylist Rossano Ferretti, ethereal textured waves will be everywhere next year. “This style offers a dreamy, undone look that’s effortlessly chic. It’s all about embracing natural texture and enhancing it with soft, flowing waves that aren’t overly styled,” he says. As for how to get the look? “Our no-rinse texturizing spray is designed to add texture and volume to all types of hair. It’s ideal for creating texturized styles like ethereal waves,” he says.

Low-Key Lobs

Lobs aren’t going anywhere in 2025. “I predict bob and lob haircuts are still going to be one of the top hair trends,” says Olya Iudina, a hairstylist at IGK. As for why their popularity seemingly never ends? “They can be so varied and can suit any hair texture, density, face shape, and personal style,” she says. Lobs in particular are having a moment, since they’re simple and chic and don’t require lots of styling skills, Iudina adds: “My must-haves are IGK’s Good Behavior Heat Protection and a flatiron like Trademark Beauty Sunny Styler for a wavy, more lived in-look."

Birkin Bangs

According to Helen Reavey, celebrity hairstylist and founder of Act\+Acre, retro styles like Daisy Edgar Jones’s Jane Birkin-inspired bangs, are on the rise. “We’re seeing a resurgence of Old Hollywood and vintage-inspired haircuts because there’s a craving for timeless elegance and glamour,” she says. “With the fast pace of trends today, many are drawn to these iconic styles that evoke a sense of nostalgia and sophistication. It’s versatile and polished while still standing out.”

Bouncy Blowouts

“The bouncy blowout is becoming more and more popular ever since Sabrina Carpenter went on tour and debuted her beautiful bouncy blonde blowout,” Angelone says, with celebrities like Lori Harvey following suit. “You can achieve this style by blow-drying your hair and setting it in rollers and pins.” If your hair is on the fine side, you can add RPZL clip- in extensions to your style for the full dramatic effect, she adds.

Vintage Chops

The new year might be all about looking ahead, but when it comes to 2025 hair trends, we continue to look backward. Not only are Birkin bobs trending, but so are retro looks like the old Hollywood bob. “A lot of people are looking for more versatile styles that can be easily adapted for different occasions, and longer bobs and mid-length cuts offer more styling options,” says Reavey. “It’s a great in-between length—short enough to feel fresh but long enough to be styled in curls or waves. As we head into cooler months, people also want the flexibility of pulling hair back or layering it under scarves and coats.”

Heavy Fringe

Birkin bangs aren’t the only style that’s having a moment next year. “Heavy fringes are back for a stand-out style,” says Amy Abramite, creative director and stylist at Chicago’s Maxine Salon. “A dense triangular bang is carved out on the head for maximum thickness and cut into a strong squared outline.” According to Abramite, full fringe like this is best worn on thick wavy hair for full-bodied texture. “At the salon, request a fringe without layering or texturizing for the design line,” she says. “Style with Oribe’s Maximista Thickening Spray for exaggerated density.”

Italian Bob

Italian bobs will also be popular, Ferretti adds. “The Italian bob is a classic short hairstyle that originated in Italy, inspired by the chic yet powerful aesthetic of the 1960s,” he says. “It’s a chin-length bob cut that typically features minimal layering, resulting in a clean and structured look. With a mix of glamour and nonchalant charm, the haircut is perfect for embracing ‘la dolce vita’ this season.”

Curtain Bangs

"Sabrina Carpenter bangs are trending because they’re fun and give your whole look a playful vibe,” says Raven Hurtado, a hairstylist at Chicago’s at Maxine Salon. "This cut is good for people who want to change their look and like to spend time styling their hair.” To achieve Carpenter’s take on this look, Hurtado recommends using a 1¼-size curling iron like Trademark Beauty Mood and curling under going away from your face. “You can also use a round brush and hair-dryer to sweep away from the face; with this method you get more lift and volume at the root,” she says.

Boy Bob

The perfect bob for low-maintenance hair lovers, according to Abramite, is the boy bob. “The boy bob is imperfect perfection. It’s an easy air-dried look that brings out natural texture with effortless charm,” she says. “The boy bob has a short length near the chin with minimal layers and is best worn tousled.” Style with Oribe’s Hair Alchemy Heatless Styling Balm and run fingers through the lengths for a freeing casual separation, she says. “It’s perfect for hat-wearing season and you can refresh it with a simple shake-out\!"

Long Layers

You just can’t go wrong with long layers; especially not in 2025, says Hurtado. “This look is classic yet subtle, and super popular because it’s put-together and versatile,” she says. “Long layers are a good haircut for people with medium to thick hair to remove weight.” It’s also fairly low-maintenance, she adds. “When it’s air-dried it gives you a shape and movement with the long layers without the ends feeling too thick and heavy,” she says. “You can use Oribe Heatless Styling Balm, apply it on damp hair, and let it air dry. It leaves your hair feeling soft and textured.”

Princess Updo

Pamela Anderson’s hair influence is still going strong: According to celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena, the messy princess updo is “literally everywhere.” “It’s such a thing,” Mena says of what’s essentially a daintier, modern take on the Pam Anderson updo. Considering how cute it looks, it’s not hard to see why.

Sleek Blowouts

While bouncy blowouts are having a moment, so too are sleek, light movement blowouts, according to Angelone. “They’re blowouts that look like your hair naturally dried perfect: smooth with a little movement at the ends,” she says. “It’s effortless and chic, and so many influencers are introducing this style because it’s easy to achieve at home.” According to Angelone, this style is created by using a larger round brush to give a little bit of movement but a nice amount of volume. “Once the blowout is done you brush through the hair with a boar-bristled paddle brush like RPZL Polisher Brush hed and shiny.”

Bouncy Bob

Since bobs and bouncy blowouts are all the rage in 2025, it’s no surprise that a combination of the two is in vogue too. Meet the bouncy bob. To master this voluminous and classy style, Iudina suggests drying your hair with an electric round brush and styling with Redken’s Full Volume Mousse for additional volume. “It’s truly my favorite haircut because you can customize it to suit your client’s personality,” she says.

Three-Tiered Layers

“Gwen Stefani is trendsetting with a three-tiered look that mimics a short bob, a lob, and long layers,” says Abramite. “The lines are sharp and unblended for a choppy layered effect that is best worn on long thick straight hair to show off the strong angled shapes.” If this look speaks to you, might we recommend looking into the jellyfish haircut

Fairy Cut

Finally, there’s a combination of almost every 2025 hair trend: the fairy haircut. “It’s mid-length and has loads of layers, says Mena, who gave Ariana Greenblatt her chop. “And you still have all the fringe to frame the face. It’s just so versatile.” When asking for a fairy cut at the salon, Mena recommends saying you’d like a mid-length chop with “lots of layers” and a face-framing fringe. “Ask for most of the layers to be around the face frame,” he says. “And always, always bring pictures of what you want so everyone’s on the same page.”
