The Best Beauty Stuff (From Strategist-Approved Brands) on Sale for Prime Day

Prime Day is back (this year slightly later than the year before), and that means lots of great deals on covetable beauty buys. Lots of Strategist-approved things are on sale, including an assortment of GHD straighteners, which Michelle Obama’s hairstylist, Yene Damtew, uses to style her hair. If you missed out on last year’s sale, there are a few products we called out in 2021 that you’ll be able to grab again, including the TikTok-famous NÅ«Face Mini, which, at $144, is just a fraction of the price, and the Strat-favorite Waterpik, which we dubbed the “only thing worth buying on Prime Day.” On the topic of Strategist favorites, there are a bunch this Prime Day: Aquaphor’s popular healing ointment (beloved by Accutane users and Ryan Destiny), and the Laneige Lip Balm, which we dubbed the best glossy balm. Most everything we recommend will be something you recognize (or from a brand we’ve written about before). We’ve also triple-checked prices to make sure it’s an actually good deal.

As always, we expect deals to go quickly, so we’ll be checking this post regularly throughout the day. And in case you’re in the market for more than face-sculpting devices and glow-y lip balm, check out our Prime Day hub or our Twitter, which we’re updating regularly.

Note: We’re done updating this post, but you can keep shopping the deals below until 3 a.m. ET on Thursday, July 14, when they expire — although some of these items might sell out before then, so don’t dillydally!

Maybelline New York Baby Lips

A three-pack of Maybelline’s cult-favorite Baby Lips balm, available in three flavors: the original clear (which has an SPF factor of 20); Dr. Rescue (a mentholated option); and the shade Cherry Me, which gives lips a subtle wash of color.

Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Hydrogel Eye Patch

For hydrating dark under eyes, these Rio-recommended eye patches contain brightening snail mucin along with seaweed and tea-tree extracts, which moisturize and heal skin. “They help create the perfect smooth, replenished based for my concealer,” says Rio. “They’re unreal.”

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer - Pink

This well-reviewed brush-shaped hairdryer is a favorite of both hair professionals and those attempting to achieve a salon-worthy blowout at home.

Thayers Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Facial Toner With Rose Petal

When we asked teens what they were buying at the drugstore, a bunch mentioned this toner from Thayers. And if rose doesn’t appeal, you can try the lavender or the cucumber scent.

Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser

Step up your flossing game with a Waterpik, which we named the best water flosser on the market for its versatility (the different tips make it ideal for anyone with dental work) and its strength — according to Dr. Pia Lieb, the founder of Cosmetic Dentistry Center NYC, “It has the strongest engine on the market,” explaining that “you want really strong water power to push as much food and debris off of the tooth structure as possible.”

Crest 3D White Professional Effects Whitestrips

And to brighten your smile, our favorite teeth-whitening strips, which come recommended by dentists and also have the (rare) ADA seal of acceptance.

NÅ«Face Mini Petite Facial-Toning Device

Like last year, we’re highlighting the NÅ«Face, a facial device that tightens and tones using micro-currents that send little electrical signals to your muscles and skin cells — the idea being that, over time, this will build up the muscle and leave skin looking lifted and toned. It’s currently all over TikTok, but we’ve written about it plenty of times before, with Rio Viera-Newton noting that it changed the natural contour of her face. “I noticed that the elasticity in my skin was tauter and that the hollows of my cheeks were more apparent,” she says.

Neogen Bio-Peel

Rio loves these mess-free Neogen exfoliating pads (a favorite from her OG skin-care Google doc), which are available in three scents: lemon, wine, and green tea.

CosRX Low-pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

A low PH cleanser from COSRx that’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and contains both BHAs and tea-tree oil to help keep skin blemish free.

GHD Platinum+ Styler - 1-inch Flat Iron

GHD makes some our favorite flat irons. This one has a one-inch plate, monitors temperature 250 times per second so as to maintain a consistent temperature of 365 degrees, and has a rounded barrel so you can create curls, flicks, and waves.

Ghd Unplugged Styler Cordless Flat Iron

And if you need something you can take on the go, they also make a cordless styler, which fits in your bag and has adjustable heat settings.

Slip Silk Skinnie Scrunchies - Black, Pink, and Caramel

Our favorite hair tie for fragile hair in three neutral shades.

Ursa Major Hoppin’ Fresh Deodorant

A smooth natural deodorant that we’ve said is the best for most people (including heavy sweaters).

Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino and Avocado Leave–In Defining Creme

This hydrating and defining curl cream from Briogeo minimizes frizz and has a soft, flexible hold.

R+Co Analog

Strat-favorite hair-care brand R+Co has discounted a bunch of its products by 30 percent, including this foam conditioner that our friends at the Cut recommend for thin hair.

Pattern Beauty Leave-in Conditioner, 9.8 Ounces

Also on the hair-care front, everything from Pattern is 20 percent off including this leave-in conditioner, which came recommended by hairstylist Leigh Hardges for maintaining 4C hair. “This works wonders for detangling,” she says.

Malin+Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant

Senior Strategist writer Liza Corsillo has been wearing this deodorant from Malin+Goetz for years. It smells just like eucalyptus (thanks to the essential oils) and citronella, which helps to keep odor at bay.

Malin+Goetz Bodywash, Rum

When we wrote about the best candles, we recommended Malin+Goetz’s rum scent. We’re almost positive that the bodywash smells just as good.

GrandeBrow Brow Enhancing Serum

Fluffy brows become a hair more attainable with this well-reviewed brow serum from GrandeLash that helps brows look bigger and bolder in about six to eight weeks.

Grande Cosmetics GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum

The well-reviewed lash serum is deeply discounted too.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water - 16.7 fl oz

This French beauty staple wipes away stubborn makeup but is gentle enough for sensitive skin.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

A cult-favorite facial spray that Tavi Gevinson called “mind-clearing.” It uses a blend of aloe, herbs, and rose water, and, in addition to being incredibly refreshing, it doubles as a setting spray.

Avène Thermal Spring Water

In case your skin is sensitive to oils or fragrance, this thermal water from Eau Thermal Avene contains soothing antioxidants that help to calm the skin.

Mizani 25 Miracle Milk Leave-In Conditioner

For curly-haired folks with low-porosity hair — or, more generally, just hair — a lightweight leave-in conditioner that protects against heat damage and cuts down frizz.

L’Oréal Paris Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water

An ultra-moisturizing hair treatment that one writer said replaced all her fancy hair conditioners.
