Karlie Kloss’ Chop Cut
and Sandy Brown Color
Fashion model Karlie Kloss has been seen sporting this year’s latest hair trend which has been lovingly dubbed “The Chop.” This look is all about effortless, low-maintenance style that looks natural and very flirty! Creative Director of Maxine Salon in Chicago, Amy Abramite and a Maxine Color Specialist see Karlie’s style being a major trend setter in 2013 and have recreated both her cut and her color – here’s the breakdown:
The Cut:
1. To begin, use scissors to cut the length of the style just below the chin in a blunt line.
2. Next, create a blunt fringe with scissors that falls at the bridge of the nose.
3. Lastly, use a razor to create the short choppy layers by elevating the hair straight up from the top of the head and cutting straight across. The length of the layers should fall near the cheekbones.
4. To finish, tousle the hair dry using a blow dryer and fingers.
The Color:
1. L’Oréal Professionnel Demi Permanent Richessee with 9 vol 7n+7.13 for her base color.
2. Balayage in pieces slightly off the root with Majimeche + 30 vol.
