Maxine Salon's 8 Steps to Replicate Rodarte's Rose Hairstyle

by Jenny Berg

Hands down, our favorite hairstyle to trot down the Fall 2013 runways was this rose-inpsired style at Rodarte (the romance!) We were desperate to track down a local salon that could replicate the look, and we finally found what we were looking for: Maxine Salon will do the job.

Not only that, but the well-coiffed team was willing to share the steps to creating the flowery look. Take a peek at the steps, below, and if you're less of a D.I.Y. type than an appointment-maker, call the salon and tell them you want to have a stylist create the look. It will cost $70, and stylists to ask for (i.e. Rodarte rose masters) include Amy.

Step 1: Begin by prepping dry hair with Kerastase Spray A Porter to add texture. Mist spray all over the head, and squeeze with fingers to create a tousled effect.

Step 2: Form a 3-strand braid at the center back of head, leaving some hair unbraided underneath it.

Step 3: Create two additional 3-strand braid on each side of the head, in front of ears.

Step 4: Take the two braids from the sides and pull them towards the back of the head. Criss-cross them over the center back braid.

Step 5: Using bobby pins, secure the side braids to the center braid where they meet leaving the ends of the braids loose.

Step 6: Begin wrapping the tail ends of the side braids clockwise, and counter clockwise in a circular motion to form the rose on top of the criss-cross.

Step 7: Secure with bobby pins and finish the style with Kerastase Laque Couture to hold in place. Step 8: Stop and smell the roses.
