...Step one: the hair color makeover

To begin her transformation, Day of Beauty winner Shannon O'Hare meets with a Color Specialist of Maxine Salon. At the L'Oréal Professionnel Haircolor Center, the pair chooses a fab red shade for Shannon's new look. "I was nervous about the red, but he's a professional, so I let him do it," Shannon shares. For a glossy finish, Shannon is treated to a Kérastase Aqua-Oleum Treatment.

Colorist Specialist:
"I added triangles of deep red, caramel and dark blonde throughout."

Step two: cut and style makeover

To play up the gorgeous shade shift, Maxine Stylist snips Shannon's tresses into an A-line with a shattered cut, featuring lots of layering and sideswept fringe. "The hair is cut to fall into place, so styling will be minimal," she notes. Prep damp strands with Kérastase Mousse Nutri-Sculpt before blow-drying, scrunching and using a Denman brush. A dab of Kérastase Lumiére NutriSculpt gives the style shine, texture and thickness.

Maxine Stylist:
"I wanted to make her hair very voluminous and piecey to make her layers come forward."

Step three: makeup

The final step in Shannon's makeover is visiting Maxine Makeup Artist. A powder foundation provides sheer coverage, before liquid concealer and eyeshadow primer are added. Working with shades of plum and gray brings attention to Shannon's eyes. After adhering false eyelashes, eyeliner and mascara provide the final touch.

Makeup Artist:
"Shades of plum and gray really make her eyes pop against her brown hair."

Salon Owner Maxine Kroll:
"She's so beautiful, but even natural beauty can be made more beautiful-naturally!"
