Emily Ratajkowski’s Subtle New Hair Color Is the Perfect Shade for Brunettes Who Are Afraid of Change

Seeing red (but in a good way).

Get ready to sizzle this summer with cinnamon-inspired hair hues. The poster girl for this season’s hottest look is model and muse Emily Ratajkowski, who recently revealed a spicy new hair color on Instagram by way of a series of red-hot swimsuit selfies. 

The work of star hairstylist Jenna Parry, it’s a marked departure from the model’s signature chocolate locks, with warmer tones that lend themselves perfectly to rising temperatures. To finish the look: a perfect feline flick, a touch of rosy pink on the cheeks and the ultimate juicy pout.

For brunettes, it's a relatively subtle change (as opposed to, say, platinum). “I highly recommend this shade for brunettes that love seeing warmth in their hair,” Lorena M. Valdes told Glamour in 2022. “From chestnut to caramels and coppers, it works so well and most don't depend on a gloss since color can be used to highlight. I would recommend a multicolored highlight to get different ribbons of colors from roots to ends for longevity and softer grow-out. It can also be done with balayage for thicker ribbons of color.” 

The last time copper hair was enjoying a moment was in the spring of 2022, when Parry created a spiced ginger hue for Kendall Jenner, who surprised us all with her new look on the Prada autumn-winter 2022 runway. Next up was Euphoria star Barbie Ferreira, who traded her cool coffee tones for warmed paprika hues. A year on, red is back on top.
