"We have been 'ashed' to the extreme with trends of the past decade; it's time to shift," Jimieson says. "Additionally, celebrities Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Adele, and Gisele Bündchen have all been spotted in the color, proving just how versatile it truly can be."

Still, Jimieson has some tips on what to ask for in a salon if you're looking to get your perfect khaki-blond color. "Single-process highlights or balayage can all warm up your color," he says. "If you have coily or curly hair, make sure that the stylist understands how delicate your hair type can be. Textured hair lightens easily, and it is a common mistake for stylists to overprocess it."
